JAMES KIRTLEY SELECTED FOR WORLD CUP TWENTY20 SQUAD
Sussex cricketer and MKK Sports director James Kirtley has been selected for the final World Cup Twenty20 squad.
"I am delighted to be included in the inaugural Twenty20 squad and to be sharing the experience with team mates, Luke Wright and Matt Prior. There is no doubt that the success of Sussex in recent months has put the team under the spotlight and has been a contributing factor to today's announcement".
Kirtley will be joined by a host of Twenty20 specialists including Andrew Flintoff, who is back from an ankle injury and Paul Collingwood who will captain the side during next month's championships.
"It was necessary to include a number of players with greater experience of this format of the game in the squad, it will give us the best possible chance of success,"
said Chairman of selectors, David Graveney.
The 15 man squad will travel to South Africa early next month and play their first game on 13 September against Zimbabwe in Cape Town.
