Sussex CCC is the oldest established County Cricket Club, but it is in recent years that they have really made a name for themselves. In the last ten years they have won three championships, and all three domestic one day trophies. They have collected 10 trophies in this time and have been referred to as “The team of the decade”. MKK have been providing their kit since 2005 and this has proved to be a winning combination. MKK have clearly defined SCCC as their flagship.
Brief:
Having won the Twenty20 Cup on August 15th it meant they would be playing the Champions League Twenty20 in India for - Sussex needed a complete range of playing and leisure teamwear. With only weeks to turn the order around MKK needed to deliver in time for the 1st October. MKK had to rework the branding as the team were to be known as the Sussex Sharks and we continue to use the sky blue/ navy blue look. We had to consider the conditions as this would have a bearing on the fabrics used. We also had to abide by a whole new set of regulations in terms of sponsors logos, placement and fonts.
Response:
Sussex needed kit that would allow optimum performance in the heat we opted for the Isotec eyelet fabric for the playing shirts and trousers for its fantastic breathing and flexibility properties it would also provide the durability required for the hard outfields that would be encountered. We tweaked the training kit to maintain the sky/navy look as suppose to the royal/navy look and provided an upgrade in the IsoPro75D fabric. The fabric had a greater amount of stretch to aid comfort and the wicking properties were increased.
MKK kept in constant contact with the sponsors and the Champions League Officials to ensure we used the correct fonts, the correct size logos and their placement.
