MKK SPORTS LAUNCHES TEAMWEAR FOR UNIVERSITIES

MKK Sports, the sports clothing manufacturer owned by Sussex and England cricketer James Kirtley and his business partners, have just launched a quality, competitive range of team clothing for universities.

The company believes it has spotted a niche in the market to offer a bespoke clothing solution which can incorporate both colour and design to match university colours, as well as offering some of the most cutting edge fabrics in the sporting arena today. "MKK Sports has been set up to offer universities a superb service that achieves exact colour matches, bespoke design and quality products that we can guarantee to deliver for years to come," said Kirtley. "We have a very strong understanding of the market place and the particular requirements of universities and have worked hard to ensure that we are best placed in the market to provide both the product, service and value that universities require."

The MKK Sports range initially encompasses teamwear and technical cricket apparel and plans are underway to expand into other sports during early 2007. The technical fabrics used by MKK Sports ensure maximum comfort by wicking moisture away from the skin and allowing the garment to breathe thereby making it perfect for other sports such as rugby, tennis, netball and hockey.

MKK Sports has just been announced as the Official Clothing Supplier to Sussex County Cricket Club for 2007-2008, an endorsement that was won in a competitive arena. "We were invited to present our clothing range for 2007 and although James plays for the club, I have to say that if our clothing wasn't considered by Sussex CCC as the best on the market, we would not have been awarded the contract. As winners of the double, these players have to play in the most comfortable, efficient and well designed kit possible and we are delighted the club chose MKK Sports," said company director, Roger Myall.

Director of Professional Cricket, Mark Robinson said of the decision, "MKK Sports had the fabrics, quality and design services that reflected our ambitions for our team kit in 2007-2008 and we were delighted to appoint the company on a two year contract."

One of MKK Sports most recent clients is Leicester University, who chose the company to create their cricket teamwear. Kenneth Matthews, of Leicester University Sports Union said "We wanted to find a supplier who not only had excellent kit but who could also demonstrate an ability to deliver on time and within budget. MKK ticked all the right boxes and we have been most impressed with the quality of their clothing and service."

MKK's particular advantage is not only the bespoke design and colours, but their ability to embroider shirts with up to three logos at a very reasonable cost. "Often the price of embroidery can make the shirt too expensive overall. We were very mindful of this when selecting our supplier and have created a solution that enables our clients to benefit from superb quality and price."

MKK Sports' interactive website enables universities to go on-line and create their own design for tracksuits and technical cricket clothing in their specific university colours, allowing them to get an outline view of how their final kit might look. MKK Sports has a full in-house design service which can turn around a complete kit design within 48 hours.

"The advantage for universities using MKK Sports is that they can often achieve a full, bespoke team kit for less than the price of 'off-the-shelf' branded clothing, and quality, well designed, bespoke team clothing certainly gives any team a psychological advantage over the opposition," said Kirtley.
